Setup instructions for PuTTY

You can download PuTTY from the author's page here, or from our server, by HTTP or FTP. Download the program and save it in a suitable directory, for example C:\Program Files.

Configuration

1. Run PuTTY by double-clicking on the downloaded file. You will then be prompted for the name of the server you want to connect to:

Enter shell.mythic-beasts.com as the hostname, and make sure that the SSH button is selected as shown above.

2. Hit Open. The first time you connect you will see this warning:

This is normal. Hit yes and you will then be prompted for your username and password.

3. If you want to create shortcut to connect, you should use this command line:

C:\Program Files\putty.exe -ssh shell.mythic-beasts.com
